The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held September 25, 2018 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Vice-Chair Bruce Johnson. Members present include Supervisors: Bruce Johnson and Joe Muellner; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Mike Berscheit was absent. Nikke Deyle and Erv Herdering were also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of August 28, 2018 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Johnson. Motion was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township board members received a phone call from a resident of Dunlin Road thanking the township for the dust control and asking to have the spray done the same way next year. Also received letters about Planning and Zoning and a signature letter from the bank. The clerk will take the letter to the bank to clarify the information.
Nikke Dyle from Ward township was present to discuss her candidacy for county commissioner.
Last month was the Swanville Rural Fire Association meeting. The group decided to raise the levy slightly, but the call charge remained the same. Sup. Johnson made a motion to approve the Swanville fire contract. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Muellner to pay all bills numbered 5638 through 5649: Rev. $653.99; R & B $38,181.89, Fire $19,556.73. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Sup. Johnson received an access permit for Long Lake. He viewed and approved the permit with no need for a culvert.
210th Street improvements are about done. The board and the contractor discussed building up 331st Ave south of town. Sup. Muellner made a motion and Sup. Johnson seconded the motion to do necessary improvements to 331st Ave. Motion passed.
Todd and Morrison County Soil and Water held a hearing for homeowners of affected lakes in this area to discuss the condition of lakes and rivers. At the hearing they shared results of testing so far and they are looking for volunteers to help with further testing and to help improve the conditions of area lakes. No certain reasons were given for the inadequate condition of Big Swan Lake, Moose Lake, Trace Lake and Swan River.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $99,923.88. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Johnson and seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Muellner to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:44 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
