Mary Jane Imdieke, age 77 of Melrose, passed away from ovarian cancer on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the CentraCare Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 1 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose with Rev. Daniel Walz officiating. Entombment will be at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in St. Rosa.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.
Mary Jane Westermeyer was born January 15, 1944 in Wheaton, Minnesota to Mike and Ida (Jonas) Westermeyer. She grew up in St. Rosa and was a 1963 graduate of Melrose High School. On September 30, 1969 she married the love of her life, Jim Imdieke. Jim and Mary were the former owners of Jim’s City Meat Market. Mary Jane liked to visit, have a good laugh, and had a great sense of humor. She liked to bake, grow flowers, read, bird watch, and watch the Young and the Restless.
Survivors include her daughters, Gwen (Dennis) Davidson of Byron and Tammy Waldvogel of Melrose; five grandchildren, Andy Wendt, Liz Davidson, Kate Davidson, Mitchell Waldvogel, and Derek Waldvogel; sisters-in-law, Pauline (James) Eubanks of Greenwood, South Carolina, Joan (Howard) Henry of Blaine, and Kathy (Dave) Lehman of Superior, Wisconsin; special friend, Pat Beste of Little River, South Carolina; and many loving relatives and friends.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Imdieke on May 23, 2018; parents; two brothers, Jerry and Richard Westermeyer; in-laws, Herman and Wilma Imdieke, Dick Imdieke, David Imdieke, and Esther Westermeyer.
Memorials are preferred to CentraCare Hospice.
