Susan Woller, 69-year-old resident of Upsala, MN passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Community Covenant Church in Upsala, MN, with Pastor Mark Chapman officiating. Burial will be at Community Covenant’s cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, and 10 AM to 11 AM Saturday, both at the church. There will be a Time of Prayer and Sharing at 7 PM on Friday. Arrangements are with Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN.
Susan Lorene Krowech was born October 24, 1948, to Robert G. and Elsie (Larson) Krowech of Salol, Minnesota. Sue grew up on the family farm in Salol. She attended the Salol School, Roseau High School, and then Bemidji State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and German. At Bemidji, she also met the love of her life, Steve Woller. They were married on December 27, 1970. She later earned her Master’s degree in English from Saint Cloud State University. Sue taught English and German for 35 years until she retired in 2005.
Sue and Steve moved to Upsala, Minnesota in 1972. They raised their sons, Jay and Scott, on the farm. Sue was a member of the Community Covenant Church.
Sue devoted countless hours to volunteering with the food shelf, teaching English to Somali students, and serving in her local church. She had a love of antiques, garage sales, and great deals, which led to selling treasures at Dust and Rust in Upsala. She enjoyed travel, playing games, and reading, but her greatest passion was her family.
Sue is survived by her husband, Steve; sons, Jay (Heidi) of Minneapolis, MN and Scott (Amber) of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Kaiya, Abrea, Parker, and Payson; brother, Robert J. (Kris) of Eden Prairie, MN, and many friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Robert G. and Elsie Krowech.
