Burnhamville Township August 29, 2017

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held August 29, 2017 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Mike Berscheit, Louis Thompson, and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Ron Schmidt and Erv Herdering.

The minutes from the regular meeting of July 25, 2017 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Thompson. Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.

For correspondence the township board members received letters from Planning and Zoning which the board saw no issue, notice of next year’s town aid from the State of Minnesota, Census, notice of feed lot building from county, and Swanville Rural Fire Association meeting August 29.

There was discussion of heavy rains doing damage to a few roads.

A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5464 through 5474: Rev. $606.16; R & B $27,824.13. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motions passed.

A representative of the land owners on Forest Lane presented a petition asking the township to take over maintenance of that road. The board discussed with him the hearing process. Sup. Berscheit made a motion to hold a road hearing on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 7 p.m. on the Forest Lane road.   Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.

Supervisors are working on weed inspections.  Some land owners have taken care of thistles. Some land owners asked if someone around here will cut the thistles for them. Supervisor will look into it.

In the road report a lot of gravel was applied to township roads this month. Board members will look at lake access again.  Still a problem with rocks on 168th St. The culvert on 321st may be plugged.  Supervisors still need to find someone to take the stumps and rocks for the 210th St. improvement.

Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $122,498.45. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Thompson.  Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center and the road hearing will be Friday, September 22, 2017 at 7 p.m. on Forest Lane.
