The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville was held July 28, 2026 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors Mike Berscheit and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky and Treasurer Pam Throener. Sup. Joe Muellner was absent. Erv Herdering was also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of June 30, 2026 were approved on a motion by Sup. Berscheit and second by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township received letters Todd County Planning and Zoning for hearings and requests from our township were approved, and information on upcoming election. The chair also received an anonymous letter about issues mostly in the City of Burtrum. The township does not respond to letters with no signatures.
A motion was moved by Sup. Johnson to pay all claims numbered 7044 through 7056 totaling $14,573.88. Sup. Berscheit seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The township board is aware that some residents got sprayed for dust control really late. Next year those sprayed late will be given a discount on spraying.
With the state primary election on August 11, Sup. Berscheit will set up the booths on Monday, August 10, 2026.
The supervisors have been doing inspections of noxious weeds. They have also done several areas of spraying to control noxious weeds in some areas.
In the road report, Sup. Johnson helped clean out drainage pipe on Dunlin Road, however this is on private property and not township responsibility. The contractor did get more dust control spray and did more spraying. He also cleaned out the culvert by Buck Lake again. He will monitor weather and road conditions and will grade roads as weather allows.
The Treasurer’s report shows balance of $91,509.27. Berscheit moved a motion to approve treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m. on a motion by Sup. Berscheit and a second by Sup. Johnson. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
