Interstate 94 rolling roadblock scheduled tonight west of St. Cloud
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – (2:30 p.m.) Motorists travelling both directions of I-94 between St. Joseph and Freeport will encounter intermittent rolling roadblocks, slow traffic and delays as crews remove snow from the interstate median following recent heavy snowfalls.
The rolling roadblocks are scheduled from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, Dec. 17.
The rolling roadblock typically moves at speeds between 15 and 25 miles per hour. Motorists approaching the 15-mile segment of I-94, located west of St. Cloud, should slow down and be prepared to stop if necessary.
MnDOT snow plow operators are doing their part to make highways safe. Motorists should remember to:
· Use a safe speed for winter driving conditions, regardless of the posted speed limit.
· Always turn on headlights and buckle up.
· Keep a safe stopping distance from the vehicle in front of you.
· Keep both hands on the steering wheel, eyes on the road and attention on your driving.
