The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held November 26, 2013 at Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 by Chairman Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Louis Thompson, Mike Berscheit and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Loren Fellbaum and Erv Herdering.
Sup. Johnson made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of October 29, 2013. Motion was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed.
Correspondence included a notice of a Todd County planning and zoning meeting and scholarship available.
The Todd County Engineer discussed the plans for the Pillsbury bridge. He discussed the issue with the DNR Hydrologist and the DNR Fisheries officials and they each wanted different designs. After sharing the facts with the board, the county engineer and the board agreed to support the idea of a new bridge similar to the one already there. We discussed holding a public hearing next summer to share the plans with the public and construction would be scheduled for 2015.
Board members gave a report from the Grey Eagle Fire meeting. No changes are expected in the costs of the department. The chief asked the board members to remind the public to use the department for essential calls only and to ask neighbors and family members to help each other to cut down on nonessential calls that are wasting rescue department time and resources.
A motion was made by Sup. Thompson to pay all bills numbered 4877 through 4885: Rev. $851.15; R&B $4,214.00; Fire $22.35. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
In the road report the contractor suggested blading the roads to smooth out the washboards before the snow and really cold weather sets in.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $8,294.08. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Due to the holidays and board members being gone, Sup. Berscheit made a motion to move the next meeting to Monday, December 23, 2013. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:37 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on December 23, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
