Norbert John Heinen

The Mass of Christian burial, celebrating the life of Norbert J. Heinen, age 82 of St. Anthony, will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 27 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony, north of Albany. Fr. Michael Naughton, OSB will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Norbert died Saturday at the Melrose Area Hospital. There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Thursday and again after 10:00 AM Friday at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in Albany. St. Anthony parish prayers will be at 4:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home in Albany.
Norbert was born May 7, 1931 in Albany Township to Martin and Anna (Eiynk) Heinen. He married Marcella Fischer on November 15, 1956, she died in 1968. Norbert married Marie Wolbeck on October 25, 1969. Norbert worked for Meyer Construction, drove truck for Landy Packing Company, worked for Cold Spring Granite Company, and he farmed for awhile near St. Francis. In 1966, he purchased his dad’s farm and farmed there until he retired in 1995. Norbert enjoyed fishing and playing cards. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Norbert is survived by his wife, Marie Heinen, Albany; his children, John (Lori) Heinen, St. Joseph; Mary (Rick) Rosen, Albany; Ann (Ed) Willenbring, Richmond; Theresa (Joe) Ritter, Sauk Centre; Rita (John) Lahr, St. Joseph; Darlene (Andrew) Vossen, Litchfield; and Marlene (Mike) Seerup, Cottage Grove. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Anna Boeckers, Albany; Dorothy Bloch, Albany; Dolores (Robert) Weyer, Sauk Rapids; Mildred (Richard) Nienaber, Freeport; Arnold (Lorraine) Heinen, Albany; David (Margaret) Heinen, Waite Park; Gerald (Ione) Heinen, Albany; Rosemary (Thomas) Nienaber, Burtrum; Vernon (Karen) Heinen, Albany; and 23 grandchildren.
Norbert is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Marcella Heinen, his sons Donald Heinen and Ronald Heinen, his daughter-in-law, Lisa Heinen, his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Berg and his sister, Margaret Chock.
