A spaghetti dinner fund-raiser was held on May 5, 2012 at the American Legion in Long Prairie for Benjamin Poegel, son of Joe Poegel and Carol Kenyon of Swanville. Benjamin was born on March 30, 2012 with a heart defect. He has undergone several surgeries to correct the problem. The fund-raiser raised $4,023 which included $500 in supplemental dollars from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
