Agnes C. Imdieke

Agnes C. Imdieke, age 90 of Albany, died peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 7 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Interment will be in Saint John the Baptist Cemetery in Meire Grove.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Agnes Catherine Imdieke was born September 2, 1927 in Meire Grove, Minnesota to John and Fredericka (Macke) Imdieke. Agnes was a waitress at the Melrose Hotel in Melrose and the Waldorf Hotel and Café in Sauk Centre. She then cared for Ione Kinsella and Mary Dorn and later worked at Jennie-O in Melrose. She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meire Grove. Agnes won multiple awards for her painting and her coloring. She enjoyed cooking and baking; her specialty was baking gingerbread. She listened to many radio broadcasts of the Meire Grove Grovers and Albany High School ball games, enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino, and loved taking Sunday drives with Grandma. Her patience, wisdom, and ability to listen to others will always be admired.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters, Mildred Gans of Albany, Irene Mergen of Waite Park, Frederick (Margaret) Imdieke of Melrose, Sister Alice Imdieke, O.S.B. of Albany, Doris (Albert) Ethen of St. Cloud, Richard Imdieke of Melrose, and Aloysius (Sandra) Imdieke of Marquette, Michigan; sister-in-law, Margaret Breitbach of Elrosa; brother-in-law, Alcuin Caspers of Melrose; and many nieces and nephews whom she thought of as her own children. They were always number one in her life and she loved them dearly.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Celine Caspers; brother, John Imdieke; and brothers-in-law, Roger Gans, George Mergen, and Ronald Schwinghammer.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.
