On Friday, December 20, at approximately 5:24 p.m. the Stearns County Communications Center received a report of a crash with injuries at 21245 County Road 154. This location is just east of County Road 10, and northeast of Albany city limits.
Alice Theisen, 60, of Albany was driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee and was delivering mail for the US Postal Service. She was stopped at a mailbox and was struck from behind by a 2005 Ford F-150. The driver of the F-150 fled the scene.
Deputies located the F-150 and identified the driver as Jonathon Boundy, 31, of Albany. Mr. Boundy exhibited signs of alcohol impairment and was arrested. He was booked into the Stearns County Jail on charges of Criminal Vehicular Operation resulting in injury-gross misdemeanor, 2nd Degree DWI, and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash.
Mr. Boundy is being held at the Stearns County Jail pending a court appearance.
Ms. Theisen was transported to the Melrose Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
