Alcuin “Pete” Thieschafer, 72-year-old resident of Pequot Lakes, formally of Long Prairie, MN, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at Heritage House in Pequot Lakes, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Swanville, MN with Father Ron Dockendorf officiating. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Parish Cemetery in Swanville, MN. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 at the church.
Alcuin was born on January 29, 1945 in Melrose, MN to the late Herman and Marie (Walbeck) Thieschafer. He was raised on the family farm near Swanville, where he also attended school. Alcuin worked at the Long Prairie Sale Barn for many years helping the vet. He was last employed at Long Prairie Packing for 29 years, 2 months before he retired. Alcuin enjoyed wood working and visiting with family and friends.
Alcuin is survived by his sisters, Helen (Robert) Becker of Swanville and Arlene (Gary) Hammer of Burtrum, also several in-laws and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Alcuin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alvin and Leo Thieschafer; sister, Rose Marie Bruder and several nieces.
