All lanes open on Highway 4 between Sauk Centre and Paynesville

October 9, 2019 by Hometown News

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is excited to announce Highway 4 between Interstate 94 near Sauk Centre and Highway 55 west of Paynesville will be open by noon on Thursday, Oct. 10.

The detour has been in place since July. Crews will begin to remove the detour at 6 p.m. tonight, Oct. 9. Be on alert for changes, watch for heavy moving equipment and removal of temporary signs and barricades.

During the project crews reconstructed the road surface, replaced 40 pipes/culverts, removed three cattle passes and upgraded guardrails.

The $7.3 million road improvement project provides a smoother ride, improves drainage and safety on 21 miles of Highway 4 in Stearns and Kandiyohi counties.

MnDOT thanks the local communities for their patience during this improvement project.
