Allen J. Eisenschenk

Allen J. Eisenschenk, age 78 of Albany, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home in Albany Township, Stearns County, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 11 at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany with Rev. Julius Beckerman, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Seven Dolors Gathering Area in Albany. Parish prayers will be held at 4 p.m. Friday evening at the gathering area.

Allen Joseph Eisenschenk was born March 6, 1939 in Melrose, Minnesota to Anthony and Irene (Evans) Eisenschenk. He grew up on a farm in St. Joseph and worked construction for several years.  On September 25, 1963 he was united in marriage to Mary Messer at St. Alexius Catholic Church in West Union. Allen farmed dairy and beef cattle near Albany.  He owned and operated Eisenschenk Farms where he trucked and hauled hay. Allen was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany.  He was a hard-working man who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Allen also enjoyed cutting wood and using his sawmill, and dancing to Polka music with his girls.

Survivors include his daughters, Jane (James) Melby of St. Cloud, Janice (Tim) Tomsche of Albany, Cindy (Dean) Tomsche of Albany, and Kathy (Dennis) Gerads of Freeport; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; former wife, Mary Eisenschenk of Albany; brother and sisters, Marlene (Al) Maleska of St. Joseph, Alice Stangler of Monticello, Bob (Jeanette) Eisenschenk of Cold Spring, Delores (Vic) Blonigen of Waite Park, and Rose (Charlie) Karn of Elk River.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Jerry Eisenschenk; brother, Joey Eisenschenk; and brothers-in-law, Al Stangler, Jim Messer, Leo Messer, and Eugene Koopmeiners.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jeremy Tomsche, Kyle Gerads, Matthew Melby, Jamie Klaphake, Jonathan Klaphake, Connor Tomsche, and Trevor Tomsche. Cross bearer will be Emilee Gerads and scripture bearer will be Kaylee Gerads. Pall bearers will be Jane Melby, Janice Tomsche, Cindy Tomsche, and Kathy Gerads.  Gift bearers will be Carrie Altendahl, Kelsey Molitor, and Natasha Frieler and the reader will be Kaylee Gerads.  The eulogy will be read by Dennis Gerads.
