Ann A. Kiley, 91, of Bowlus, died Monday, October 31, 2016 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Upsala. Interment was held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley.
Ann was born July 17, 1925 in Holdingford, the daughter of John and Johanna (Kostreba) Brezinka. She attended Upsala High School. Ann married LeRoy Kiley on January 6, 1945 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Elmdale. They moved to Minneapolis in 1946. Together Ann and LeRoy raised twelve children. Ann was a homemaker and daycare provider. In 1971, they returned to the Upsala area to begin their farming life. Ann and LeRoy were married 71 years.
Ann enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, bingo, making loomed rugs and playing cards. Ann also loved to make mittens for the local elementary school children. She was a member of the St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Elmdale. Ann’s greatest joy was spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren.
Ann is survived by her children, LeAnn (Walt) Beneke of Bowlus, Kiley Breda of Crosslake, William (Liz) Kiley, of Bowlus, Sharon (Tom) Heurung, of Sauk Rapids, Coreen (William) Lehrke, of Swanville, Craig Kiley, of Upsala, Cindy (Jeremy) Phillips, of Upsala, Mary (Greg Neyssen) Kiley, of Rice, Michael (Janice) Kiley, of St. Joseph, and John Kiley of Rosholt, SD; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Kiley, of Upsala; 35 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; five brothers; and six sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Johanna; husband, LeRoy; sons, Steven and Patrick; one granddaughter, Kelly Lehrke; seven brothers; and one sister.
