Arnold Gene Walther, 77, of Long Prairie, passed away on September 27, 2019. Funeral services for Arnold will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, 12 noon, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Little Sauk. Friends may begin calling the day of the funeral at 10:00 a.m., at the church. Burial will be held at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery.
Arnold was born May 28, 1942, in Westport, Minnesota, to Alfred & Florence (Hanson) Walther. On January 13, 1962, Arnold married Sharon Holm in Round Prairie. He worked various jobs over the years but spent much of his life working as an excavator, where he owned his own backhoe business and worked for the Todd County Highway Department as a motor grader operator.
Arnold enjoyed cutting wood, hunting deer, traveling and camping in their camper and helping his children. They traveled around the country visiting their son Tod and his family while Tod was serving in the military.
Arnold is survived by his wife Sharon; children: Shelly (Devin) Veit, Steve (Jessica) Walther; daughter-in-law Mikyong Walther; grandchildren: Jamie (Gretchen) Dreher, Ryan (Rachel) Dreher, Jenny (Casey Homan) Dreher, Tyler (Megan) Dreher, Jake (Briana Wood) Walther, Jack (Emily) Walther, Amy Walther and T.J. Walther; 11 great grandchildren with one on the way and sister JoAnne (Bob) Helle.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred & Florence, son Tod, in-laws Milo & Helen Holm.
