Arnold L. “Arnie” Kleve, age 100 of Albany, formerly of St. Francis, passed away peacefully on his birthday on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 27 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany with Rev. Julius Beckermann, O.S.B. officiating. Entombment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Arnold Leo Kleve was born December 20, 1924 in New Munich, Minnesota to Anton and Elizabeth (Knoblach) Kleve. On October 15, 1946 he was united in marriage to Marie Van Heel at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis. The couple farmed near St. Francis until 2004 when they moved to Freeport. He was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany and St. Francis Men’s Society in St. Francis. Arnie enjoyed playing cards and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
Survivors include his children, Robert (Nancy) Kleve of Albany, Alice Eggert of St. Cloud, Marilyn (Roger) Zimmermann of Albany, and Carol Kleve of Albany; daughter-in-law, Dianne Kleve of Freeport; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Rosie Schaefer.
Arnold was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Kleve on July 12, 2008; parents; son, David Kleve on June 29, 2023; son-in-law, Ray Eggert; an infant son; granddaughter, Jody Kleve; brothers and sister, Sylvester, Victor, Arthur, Walter, Werner, Gerald, Ray, and Herbert Kleve, and LouAnn Wensmann.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.
