Arthur P. Roehrl, age 98 of Melrose, went to the Lord in his sleep on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at CentraCare Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, October 24 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery with military honors by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.
Arthur Peter Roehrl was born November 29,1924, to Ludwig and Bertha (Miller) Roehrl in St. Martin, Minnesota. He graduated from College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1949 with a BA degree in Business Administration, major in accounting. He served in the US Army from March 1943 to January 1946, primarily in 62nd Armored Infantry Battalion, 14th Armored Division in USA and ETO. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Arthur married Margaret J. Jollie on May 23, 1964. Margaret passed on May 8, 1976. He married Patricia A. Kelly on April 15, 1978.
Arthur worked for the FBI as a Special Agent from June 6, 1949 to June 6, 1979. He served as a Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent at the offices in Buffalo, NY, Omaha, NE, New York, NY, Richmond, VA, and Alexandria, VA. He was supervisor in Alexandria, VA the last ten years. He supervised White Collar Crime cases and subsequently did contract investigative work throughout the United States for the Agency For International Development and MSM Inc. from 1980 to 1990.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; siblings, Melvin Roehrl, Bertilla “Tillie” Bueckers, Lavina Adamski, Lila Wessel, Elmer “EJ” (Sherry) Roehrl, Marlin Roehrl, Louis Roehrl, and John (Charlotte) Roehrl; and many nieces and nephews.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Margaret; siblings, Armella Bueckers and Viola Humbert.
