A Little Falls man was unharmed Thursday, June 15, 2023 when he was involved in a collision that resulted in an Avon man being hospitalized.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Tyler Michael Tougas, 21, Avon, sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle, Troy Joseph Kruzel, 44, Little Falls, was not hurt.
The State Patrol was alerted to a two-vehicle wreck at about 6:11 a.m. Thursday. It happened in the intersection of state highways 4 and 32 in Stearns County, about two miles north of Lake Henry.
According to the report, Tougas was driving westbound on Stearns County Road 32 in a 2012 Chevy Silverado pickup. Meanwhile, Kruzel was southbound on Highway 4 in a 2004 Freightliner semi truck and trailer.
“The vehicles collided,” read the report from the State Patrol. No further information was given as to how or why the crash occurred.
Tougas was transported to the Paynesville Hospital via ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, according to the State Patrol. The airbag deployed in Touga’s vehicle, but not in the semi. Alcohol was not a factor in the incident and road conditions were dry.
The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the Lake Henry Fire Department and Paynesville Ambulance.
