On March 13, 2019 at approximately 4:17 a.m., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received multiple calls about a barn on fire and fully engulfed.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Holdingford Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance were dispatched to 41828 County Road 3 which is a few miles east of the City of Holdingford. St. Stephen Fire assisted with mutual aid at the scene.
According to Sheriff Steve Soyka, property owner, Steven Alan Rosty, was unaware his barn was on fire and stated only cattle and vehicles were stored in the barn. Rosty advised the cattle were able to exit the barn on their own.
The barn was a complete loss along with a skid steer and snowmobiles.
The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
