Bernadette J. “Bernie” Korte

Bernadette J. “Bernie” Korte, age 90 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Jeremy Theis officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery. The Mass may be livestreamed and can be viewed at the link when available. There will be no visitation prior to the Mass.
Bernadette Josepha Middendorf was born November 25, 1930 in Melrose, Minnesota. She was one of seven children of Fred and Theresia (Hiltner) Middendorf. She was united in marriage to Frederick “Fred” Korte on September 25, 1952 at Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. Bernie was a dedicated housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who worked at St. Michael’s Hospital in Sauk Centre.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers. Bernie loved her family, cooking, and making desserts.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James and Carol Korte of St. Cloud; granddaughters, Lori (Rick) Laudenbach, Debbie (Mitch) Wellman, and Lisa (Jeff) Bullert; five great grandchildren, Alexis and Cassie, Samantha, Lucas and Jameson; brothers and sisters, Helen Jacobs, Donna Tiemann, John (Mary Jane) Middendorf, and Eugene (Mary Ann) Middendorf.
Bernie was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Korte on September 30, 2016; parents, Fred and Theresia Middendorf; and sisters, Selestine Korte-Power and Mary Ann Worms-Kent.
Memorials are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
