Bert Olberding
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 30, 2014 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Bert Olberding who passed away on Sunday at his home in St Cloud. Rev. LeRoy Scheierl will officiate and entombment will be in the Assumption Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Bert was born on December 20, 1938 in Freeport, Minnesota to Hubert and Christine (Stueve) Olberding. He married Audrey Muellner on June 24, 1961 at St. Joseph’s Church in Grey Eagle. Bert was employed at Matthew Hall Lumber, Piggly Wiggly, Coborn’s, and retired in 2000 from Frigidaire. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church and The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Some of Bert’s hobbies included cribbage, playing cards, and playing the concertina. Bert took pride in always keeping his vehicles washed and polished. He loved to tease people and was a “good joker.”
Bert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Audrey, of St. Cloud; siblings, Roger Olberding of St. Cloud, Maryann Zinniel of St. Cloud, and Marlene Muellner of Grey Eagle. He was preceded in death by his parents.
