> A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. >
> Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. followed by the Christian Mothers at 7 p.m. Friday evening. >
> Bertha Frances Mitchell was born March 5, 1923 in Lime Creek, Minnesota to Raymond and Clara (Wille) Mitchell. She moved to Sauk Centre in 1936. On June 8, 1943 she was united in marriage to Henry A. Barhorst at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. She raised eight children and worked at Pettit’s Children’s Home in Sauk Centre. She enjoyed flowers, playing cards, and baking. >
> Bertha was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, Christian Mothers, American Legion Post 67 Auxiliary, and the St. Michael’s Hospital Auxiliary. >
> Survivors include her children, Clarice Poepping of New Munich, Ray Barhorst of Sauk Centre, Rich (Rita) Barhorst of Long Prairie, Sam (Tracy) Barhorst of Sauk Centre, Gladys “Goose” (Vern) Haskamp of Sauk Centre, and Ron Barhorst of Sauk Centre; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Paul Mitchell of Kirkland, Washington. >
