The Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Bertha Henrietta Lang, age 90 of Albany, was held Wednesday, June 6, at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Bertha died peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2012, surrounded by her family.
Bertha was born March 26, 1922 in St. Anthony to Frank and Laura (Gresser) Habermann. She married John Lang on May 21, 1941 in St. Anthony. She and John farmed together until moving to Albany in 1974. Bertha was a woman whose universe consisted of unconditional love for her family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, going fishing, traveling, dancing, visiting and baking, especially her famous Grandma buns. She was a member of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Seven Dolors Christian Mothers, Seven Dolors church choir, Little Flower Mission Group, St. Ann’s Society and the Albany American Legion Auxiliary.
Bertha is survived by her chidren, James (Louanne) Lang, Redding, CT; Robert (Audrey) Lang, Avon; Bernadette “Bernie” (Dennis) Schiffler, Waite Park; Joseph (Barb) Lang, Avon; Terrance (Denise) Lang, Woodbury; Daniel (Cindy) Lang; Champlin; Jane (Al) Hager, Champlin; Timothy (Paula) Lang, Ham Lake; Judith (Lee) Bills, Ham Lake; Lisa (Chad) Burton, Rogers; son-in-law, Jim Crocker, Brooklyn Center, 38 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters and brother, Delores Ramler, Albany; Lucille (Ralph) Goenner, Clear Lake; and Donald Habermann, PA.
Bertha is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 1993, her daughter, Mary Lou Crocker in 1995, her grandson, John Lang, her brother, Herbert Habermann, an infant brother, Norbert Habermann, and her daughter-in-law, Mary Lang.
