Brian Koester

Brian Gene Koester, 54 year old resident of Little Falls died Monday, February 26 at his home of natural causes. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 3 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville with Rev. Gary Hendrickson and Rev. Kevin Zellers officiating. The burial will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Swanville, MN. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, March 2 and from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church in Swanville.
Brian Gene Koester was born July 19, 1963 in Little Falls, Minnesota to the late Alfred and Rosella (Bliese) Koester. He attended school in Swanville, Minnesota and graduated with the class of 1981. He continued his education at St. Cloud Vocational School where he studied drafting. Brian was united in marriage to Kathy Tschida on September 25, 1987 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Little Falls where they raised their four children. Brian worked for Benton County Courthouse where he served as the County Assessor for over twenty years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as an elder for three years and also helped with custodial services. He spent most of his days playing softball, gardening, baking and spending time with his family. Brian was a devoted father, he was always at his children’s events and special occasions.
Brian is survived by his wife, Kathy of Little Falls; son, Nicholas Koester of Little Falls; daughters, Ashley Koester of Devil’s Lake, ND, Sammi (Cole) Karsky of Duluth, Molly Koester and fiance Bryce Feia of Fargo, ND; brothers, Vern Koester of Swanville, Merlin (Bernice) Koester of Holdingford, Wayne (Jean) Koester of Golden Valley, Lynn (Kathy) Koester of Alexandria, Randy (Carmen) Koester of Sartell, Steve Koester of Sartell; sisters Gail (Tom) Meyer of Royalton, Peggy (Dick) Farmer of Litchfield, and Julie (Mike) Larson of Osseo.
He was preceded in death by his infant son Joshua; his parents; father-in-law LaVern Tschida; sister, Doreen Koester; grandparents, Alfred and Irene Koester and Arthur and Ester Bliese.
