Bruce E. Walz

Bruce E. Walz, age 56 of Melrose, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at his home in Melrose, Minnesota after a long battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Bruce Edward Walz was born December 6, 1967 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Roman and Judy (Borgerding) Walz. He was united in marriage to Jonel Evens on April 16, 1994 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose. Bruce worked at Bluestone Builders in Belgrade for over 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, hanging out on the farm, and spending time with his grandkids.
Bruce was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose.
Survivors include his wife, Jonel Walz of Melrose; daughters, Hope (Nick) Klaphake of Melrose, Hana (Cory) Schneider of Meire Grove, and Abby (Justin) Smith of South Haven; son, Ethan Walz of Meire Grove; grandchildren, Reece, Peyton, and Mason Klaphake, MaKenzie and Carter Schneider, and Amelia Smith; parents, Roman and Judy Walz; brothers and sisters, Roman Walz Jr., Jim Walz, Lisa Dokken, Lori Hubert, Mark Walz, and Frank Walz; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Mike and LaVonne Ludwig.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral and Cremation Services of Melrose.
