Burnhamville Township • August 26, 2014

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held August 26, 2014 at Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Louis Thompson, Mike Berscheit and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Loren Fellbaum and Ervin Herdering.
Sup. Thompson made a motion to approve the minutes from the regular meeting of July 29, 2014. Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Correspondence included notice of a Planning and Zoning meeting, early payment of state funding request form, and township mileage and sign inspection forms to be signed.
The county engineer gave the townboard an update on the replacement of the Pillsbury Bridge. He discussed the ideas required by the DNR and the costs of span bridge vs box culvert and the ideals of fixed concrete weir vs rosgin boulder design for fish flow. The township costs should stay the same even though the cost estimates are higher than the first estimates. The board showed support for the span bridge with the fixed concrete weir.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 4996 through 5014: Rev. $2,083.00; R&B $11,815.53, Fire $11.05. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
For the road report the contractor is still working on the road improvement list and 210th St. improvement was discussed. A board member will discuss cost sharing with Bruce Township for this road improvement. For this year contractor will work on making water flow chutes and cut in ditches on the east part of this western section of 210th St.
The clerk gave a report from the primary election which had about 26% voting turn out and first use of the new lights.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $76,501.67. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on September 30, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center. Shirley Hulinsky, Burnhamville Township Clerk
