The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held December 29, 2015 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Mike Berscheit and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Sup. Louis Thompson was on speaker phone. Others present: Erv Herdering.
The minutes from the regular meeting of November 24, 2015 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Johnson. Motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township received liquor license from the Swanville Lions Club. Also received notices on Arvig Cable issues from providers, election information, and Todd Co. Soil and Water will be doing water sampling in this township in the spring.
Supervisor Berscheit made a motion to approve the liquor license request from the Swanville Lions Club for the fishing tournament on Long Lake on February 27, 2016. Motion seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Permit will be passed on to county.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5198 through 5205: Rev. $551.91; R & B $6,455.29. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
In the road report snow plowing was difficult to start since it snowed before the road surface froze. Most areas we had to wait for the road to get hard so as not to damage gravel.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $102,152.64. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Sentence to Serve crew has now stated they are too busy to trim trees on Dunlin Road. Supervisor will look into how to get tree trimming done and discussed liability issues.
Filing for office for the March township election starts today and goes for two weeks.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on January 26, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
