Burnhamville Township • July 29, 2014

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held July 29, 2014 at Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Louis Thompson, Mike Berscheit and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Lonnie Marcyes, Ervin Muellner and Ervin Herdering.
Sup. Thompson made a motion to approve the minutes from the regular meeting of June 24, 2014. Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Correspondence included notice of a District 8 meeting and a Planning and Zoning meeting. One of the county’s sheriff candidate’s came to speak before the board.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 4980 through 4995: Rev. $674.90; R&B $27,741.05. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The sign report was completed by one of the supervisors. Signs needing replacement were noted.
With the primary election coming up the board agreed to set up voting booths on Monday, August 11 at 5 p.m. For the voting lights the board agreed to put in florescent fixtures.
In the road report dust control should be completed and contractor will only blade as needed on extra sprayed areas. 321st Ave needs more clay and more gravel by culvert. 210th St was discussed more and the power company already cleared more trees. With the storms that went through the board and contractors will watch for more trees that need to be trimmed back. There was a complaint of a resident on 331st Ave having fence too close to the road so a supervisor will contact him. The board heard complaint of road grading not wide enough on 150th St. The supervisors finished weed inspections with no serious problems. The board inspected access added by Randy Friese and approved to add gravel.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $101,589.33. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Clerk notified board she will destroy election papers older than 22 months as outlined in the state record retention.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:46 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on August 26, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center. Shirley Hulinsky, Township Clerk
