Burnhamville Township • June 24, 2014

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held June 24, 2014 at Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Louis Thompson, Mike Berscheit and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Mark Throener, Ervin Muellner and Ervin Herdering.
Sup. Thompson made a motion to approve the minutes from the regular meeting of May 27, 2014. Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Correspondence included an estimated census count and an unsigned letter of complaint.
A resident complained of water backed up in his field along 341st Ave. The board has already requested contractor put a culvert in the area to help the extra water flow away.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 4964 through 4979: Rev. $1,801.22; R&B $20,137.69. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
In the road report Fitz Road needs more clay, 184th St will get a single pass of dust control to hold the gravel, Dunlin Road, Empire and Emerald will get sprayed at half rate of dust control between areas that are paid for full rate to help road conditions. The chairman discussed 210th Street with the county engineer. Whereas this is a road less used he suggested doing small sections of improvements rather that all at once. The chair will meet with contractor and Bruce Township to discuss first section of improvement. The supervisors will continue weed inspections.
The board will contact the beaver trapper about water level conditions near Buck Lake.
Sup. Berscheit made a motion and Sup. Thompson seconded the motion to appoint the following for election judges for the August 12 primary election: Gary Allen, Bonnie Alsleben, Mike Holmgren, Shirley Hulinsky, Sharon Muellner, Brenda Schwanke, and Pam Throener. Motion passed.
The board received an access permit from Randy Friese. Sup. Thompson made a motion at approve the permit and the motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed. Board will inspect area after culvert and access are put in.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $35,122.05. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:43 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on July 29, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center. Shirley Hulinsky, Clerk
