Burnhamville Township • November 29, 2016

December 25, 2016 by Hometown News

These minutes are unapproved.
The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held November 29, 2016 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Mike Berscheit and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Sup. Louis Thompson was absent. Others present: Ron Schmidt and Erv Herdering.
The minutes from the regular meeting of October 25, 2016 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup .Johnson. Motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township board members received notices from Todd County Planning and Zoning about proposed rule changes and a new plat in our township. The board discussed the new plat. No new road is mentioned and the board would encourage new revenue. Also received a notice of snow plow trucks from another county, however since we contract our snow plowing the board was not interested.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5339 through 5359: Rev. $1,577.45; R & B $29,512.28; Fire: $11.16. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A guest wanted to know why the township never took over maintenance of Forest Lane. He stated he had minutes from 1969 stating the board referred to it as a public road. The board stated the developer never brought the road up to standards or filed a road petition to make it a township maintained road. The road was not listed as a township road when the county required the townships to record all maintained roads in 1986. The speaker stated the board should represent all residents. The board stated there are several private roads in the township, especially by lakes.
There was no update on the proposed solar farm in the township.
The board heard an update from the Grey Eagle fire meeting which included them getting a few new pieces of lifesaving equipment which the first responders will be trained on.
In the road report the contractor will work on blading roads to smooth out and fill in holes especially Cranberry Drive and Flicker Road.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $69,180.92. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:48 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
Shirley Hulinsky, Burnhamville Township Clerk
