Burnhamville Township April 24, 2018

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held April 24, 2018 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Mike Berscheit, Bruce Johnson and Joe Muellner; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Erv Herdering was also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of March 27, 2018 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Johnson. Motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township board members received letters from City of Swanville, overweight permit, mileage certification, and one bid for ditch mowing. Sup. Berscheit made a motion to approve the overweight permit for milk haulers traveling in Burnhamville Township. Motion seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5567 through 5577: Rev. $1,000.93; R & B $4,838.47. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
City of Swanville will have a public hearing on May 8 at 6:45 to discuss annexing more land from Burnhamville Township which includes a walking path. Sup. Johnson will attend.
Due to poor weather conditions the board changed annual road inspection to Thursday, May 3 at 2:30. Cranberry Road was washing out. Contractor replaced the culvert and added gravel.
The board heard an update from the county weed meeting. Handouts of weeds to watch for were included. Supervisors will do inspections later in June.
Board heard an update from county officer meeting which included information on Wellness Center being built this summer in Long Prairie and shared information on gophers around the county.
The annual township clean-up day is set for Saturday, May 19 from 9-11 am. The board discussed the two bids. Sup. Johnson made a motion to use Tom’s Refuse for clean-up day. Motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed. Prices will remain the same as last year.
Dust control will be the same procedure as last year with the township doing several intersections, lake boating accesses, and filling in between residents on some roads.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $114,538.46. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:33 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
