Burnhamville Township April 25, 2017

These are unapproved minutes.

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held April 25, 2017 at the Burtrum Community Center.  The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Louis Thompson, Mike Berscheit and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Luke Maidment, Elaine Maidment, Doris Wedl, Ron Schmidt, Mary Thompson and Erv Herdering.

The minutes from the regular meeting of March 27, 2017 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup.  Johnson. Motion was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed.

For correspondence the township board members received letters from U.S. Census, Midwest Asphalt, Minnesota Power notice of putting line under township road, and ditch mowing bids.

Ron Schmidt presented a letter he distributed to the land owners on Forest Lane about the road improvements and the clerk read it aloud. The contractor hopes to start this week and the power lines should not have to be moved. There was discussion if it is a class B or minimum maintenance road. He questioned why board is not seeking DNR grant and he was told this projects does not meet the requirements for the grant.

Mary Thompson requested a handicap child sign on 315th Ave. Supervisors will try to get one installed.

A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5408 through 5425: Rev. $1,329.01, R & B $17,073.62, Fire $11,228.04. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed.

The board reviewed the road inspection list and will add another road and contractor will work on projects. Road restrictions are lifted and he can start dust control spraying in May.

Clean up day pricing will stay the same on a motion from Sup. Berscheit and a second from Sup. Thompson. Motion passed. Clean up day will be May 20 from 9-11 am in Burtrum.

The board heard high lights from short course training, county township officer meeting, and Swanville Fire truck update.

Sup. Berscheit made a motion to approve DK’s Tree and Landscaping bid for doing one side of Ermine Drive tree trimming this year and the other side next year for same amount. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion.  Motion passed.    

Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $116,471.97. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
