Burnhamville Township • April 27, 2021

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville was held April 27, 2021 at the Burtrum Community Center with sanitizing and social distancing in place. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Bruce Johnson, Mike Berscheit, Joe Muellner; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Erv Herdering and Ervin Muellner were also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of March 30, 2021 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Johnson and was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township received call about Long Lake Access Porta Potty. Lake association wanted to know who is going to pay for it. Sup. Johnson will check into it. The board discussed a reasonable rate for beaver control. Sup. Berscheit made a motion to set the township beaver rate at $75. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed. The township also received a letter from Community Corrections asking for a donation to purchase tools. As the township uses the Sentence to Serve crews sometimes for ditch clearing Sup. Johnson made a motion to donate $500 to Todd County Community Corrections. Motion was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
The board reviewed the list of the April road inspection.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 6081 through 6096: Rev. $1,474.40; R & B $8,026.22. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The clerk received notice from the county that municipalities should be eligible for American Rescue Act funds. Not much information was available yet on how it will be used.
In the road report the board discussed charges for dust control. Going forward the minimum charge for dust control will be 100 feet on a motion from Sup. Johnson and a second from Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed. The contractor will plan on starting spraying the second week of May. Some roads will need work before the spraying will be applied.
Clean up day will be Saturday, May 22 from 9-11 am on Chicago Ave. in Burtrum. Prices will be the same as last year: appliances $10, electronics $5, car tires $2, big truck tires $4, and tractor tires $10.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $58,475.39. Sup. Berscheit motioned to approve and Sup. Muellner seconded motion. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:52 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, May 25 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
