Burnhamville Township – April 29, 2014
These are unapproved minutes.
The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held April 29, 2014 at Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Louis Thompson, Mike Berscheit and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Karl Lawin, Ervin Muellner and Carol Herdering.
Sup. Berscheit made a motion to approve the minutes from the regular meeting of March 25, 2014. Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Correspondence included letters from State Rep. Krensha, City of Swanville on approval of waste removal, bridge inspection report from Todd County, and First State Bank of Swanville requesting resolution on updating names on account. Sup. Johnson made a motion to approve Burnhamville Township Resolution #2014-01 showing names of treasurer, clerk and chairman on account at First State Bank of Swanville. Sup. Berscheit seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A resident came to request an access permit for possible building site on his property on Fitz Road. After discussion Sup. Berschiet made a motion to approve the access permit. Motion was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed. Sup. Berscheit will inspect area.
A motion was made by Sup. Johnson to pay all bills numbered 4935 through 4950: Rev. $916.72; R&B $5,816.77; Fire $7,772.08. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
When setting up for the township election some board members noted the need for better lights for election booths. The clerk discussed this with the city council and they approved the idea. Sup. Berscheit made a motion to pay for the track lights in the Burtrum City Hall for the area over the election booths. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed. The board heard updates from training sessions in March and April.
In the road report the annual road inspection report was discussed. Some residents complained of Fitz Road being rough. After discussion with the DNR, the board gave the road contractor approval to clean cat tails near Buck Lake and work on 162nd St near the springs to upgrade the road. The board also discussed ideas to improve 210th St.
The annual township clean-up day on May 17th from 9-11 a.m. at the Burtrum Lions Park was also approved by the City of Burtrum.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $64,909.31. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 8:12 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on May 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center. Shirley Hulinsky, Clerk
