Burnhamville Township January 29, 2019

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held January 29, 2019 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Bruce Johnson, Mike Berscheit and Joe Muellner; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky. Treasurer Pam Throener was absent. Erv Herdering was also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of Dec. 18, 2018 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Berscheit. Motion was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township board members received letters about Todd Co. planning and zoning, Census boundary changes, beer license request form, forfeited land values update, Swanville Relief Association meeting and a request to do plowing on adjourning township road.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5691 through 5702: Rev. $1,000.17; R & B $9,577.45; Fire $9.42. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Sup. Berscheit made a motion to approve the liquor license for Swanville/Sobieski Lions Fishing Derby on Long Lake February 23, 2019. Motion was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Upon vote motion passed.
After review of the forfeited land values as presented by county, Sup. Berscheit made a motion to leave the forfeited land values as presented. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
In December supervisors started brush cutting the township road ditches. However, with the snow now the board will wait until spring to do any more trimming. The board will look in to the cost of purchasing one to use instead of renting.
The road contractor will continue to plow snow and put down sand mixture as needed. The board denied the request by a land owner to plow road that is responsibility of another township.
Sup. Berscheit made a motion to appoint Brenda Schwanke, Chuck Macy, Nancy Hillman as election judges with Shirley Hulinsky as alternate for township election on March 12. Shirley Hulinsky and Brenda Schwanke will be absentee ballot board. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $88,571.94. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, February 26, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center when the board will audit the books of the clerk and treasurer.
