Burnhamville Township
July 31, 2012
The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held July 31, 2012 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Mike Berscheit, Bruce Johnson, and Louis Thompson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; and Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Sandy Peterson, Erv Herdering and Ervin Muellner.
Sup. Thompson made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 31, 2012 regular meeting. Motion seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motion made by Sup. Johnson to pay all bills numbered 4665 through 4676: Rev. $638.28, R&B $16,550.48. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motions passed.
The board received notices about election supplies and chairman needed to sign paper at the bank.
Pedestrian Crossing signs were installed by Pillsbury and a follow up: the yield sign is placed on 331st Ave is to slow down traffic coming up the beach area.
The Swanville mayor addressed the board about annexing more township land. The school acquired more land for softball fields and parking. The school would like the land to be in the City of Swanville. Sup. Johnson made a motion to allow the City of Swanville to annex approximately 15.59 acres of Burnhamville Township between Morrison Line Road and railroad right-of-way along State 28, whereby it will be for school use and not otherwise developed. Motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. With all voting in favor, motion passed.
During weed inspection supervisors sprayed for noxious weeds in some area ditches.
Signs by Co 104 and 321st Ave have been moved as well as the township inventory completed.
In the road report oil treatment has been sprayed on designated areas and will be watched for effectiveness. The beaver trapper is working on problems by the culvert on Buck Lake. Also, adding more clay mix to some roads was discussed. Supervisor is working on contacting land owners along 210th St. before starting that project. The board approved more brush cutting and will check road conditions again.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $202,123.22 before tonight’s bills. Treasurer’s report accepted on a motion by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed.
Motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 7:39 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on August 28, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
