Burnhamville Township June 27, 2017

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held June 27, 2017 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Mike Berscheit, Louis Thompson, and Bruce Johnson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Erv Herdering.
The minutes from the regular meeting of May 30, 2017 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Thompson. Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township board members received letters from May tax settlement, population census estimate and weed information book.
The board also received a complaint about a property owner on 331st Ave with fence too close to road. This causes problems with mowing ditches. A supervisor will contact land owner. There were two areas that had problems with trees on the road that supervisors took care of.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5440 through 5452: Rev. $884.50 R & B $27,025.41. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A property owner on Long Lake contacted the board about removing the road easement on her property. The board discussed the steep ditch and the other road access issues and would need to view the property. The land owners would need to petition the board to remove the old road easement.
Todd County contacted Burnhamville Township about the value of tax forfeited property that is going to public auction. The board signed approval of the presented value.
Sup. Thompson reported that one beaver was removed from Buck Lake, and, after working on culvert, the water level is down. He will watch other areas of the lake for problems.
In the road report the contractor said the requested areas are sprayed for dust control, but he is waiting on a rail car for more spray to finish intersections. They are moving the rock crusher to prepare for other road repair projects.
The tree trimmer asked for clarification on Ermine Drive. The board decided remove all trees 10 feet from edge of road and trim trees that lean toward the road.
Supervisors are working on weed inspections.
Clerk presented a list of files destroyed according to the General Records Retention.
Supervisors will view 210th St. on Thursday, July 20 to plan how to improve road.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $77,837.70. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:41 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
