The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville was held June 30, 2020 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Bruce Johnson, Mike Berscheit, Joe Muellner; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky and Treasurer Pam Throener. Erv Herdering was also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of May 26, 2020 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Muellner and was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township board members received letters about planning and zoning, which the board saw no problem with, election judging information, CARES funding and taxes received.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5928 through 5942: Rev. $2,391.62; R & B $24,220.67; Fire $8,816.00. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
With the primary coming up on August 11, 2020 Sup. Johnson made a motion to appoint these as election judges pending completion of training: Bonnie Alsleben, Brenda Schwanke, Chuck Macy, Shirley Hulinsky, Pam Throener, Mike Holmgren, Nancy Hillman. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
In the road report the township has asked Hormel to help pay for the cost of dust control of spraying Fitz Road. Hormel has agreed to pay the contractor directly. 331st Ave. needs frost boils fixed before dust control can be sprayed. The supervisors divided up the township to do weed inspections soon. The contractor for mowing ditches said the mower broke down. He will resume once repaired.
A resident on Dutchman Drive again asked for the fire department in that area to be switched. The board told him it is up to the county and state to approve and change the computer system. He was told to take his petition to the county.
There was discussion on gravel for access permits; the board agreed to only put gravel on one side of lake lots and the owner will be responsible for the other side. Two access permits were reviewed and approved on a motion by Sup. Berscheit and a second by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $139,880.08. Sup. Berscheit motioned to approve and Sup. Muellner seconded motion. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
