Burnhamville Township • March 24, 2026

The reorganizational meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville was held March 24, 2026 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Clerk Shirley Hulinsky. Members present include Supervisors Mike Berscheit and Bruce Johnson; and Clerk Shirley Hulinsky. Pam Throener and Joe Muellner were absent. Linda and Jim Gohman and Kevin Herdering were also present.
First order of business was the selection of chairman. Bruce Johnson motioned to have Mike Berscheit as chair and Mike seconded the motion. Mike Berscheit motioned to have Joe Muellner as vice-chair and Bruce seconded the motion. Motions passed.
Other reorganizational items also addressed included Mike Berscheit motioning to keep wages at $80 per month for the supervisors and treasurer and the clerk will increase to $250 per month, extra meetings for board members will be $80 and $15 hourly wage for all board members and election judges for extra work and $25 per hour wage for heavy equipment usage (power hours). Bruce Johnson seconded the wages motion. Motion passed. Mike Berscheit moved a motion for mileage expenses will follow the IRS rules. Bruce Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed. The township board will meet each month on the last Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Burtrum Community Center stated in a motion from Mike Berscheit and seconded by Bruce Johnson. Motion passed. The official publishing newspaper will be the Long Prairie Leader with additional publishing in Hometown News and the official posting sight will be the Burtrum Bell Bulletin Board next to the Burtrum Community Center as stated in a motion from Bruce Johnson and seconded by Mike Berscheit. Motion passed. The gopher bounty will remain at $3 per tail caught in Burnhamville Township and beaver bounty as requested by a township supervisor will again be $50 in a motion moved by Mike Berscheit and seconded by Bruce Johnson. Motion approved.
Supervisor Mike Berscheit motioned to adjourn the reorganizational meeting and Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Reorganizational meeting adjourned at 7:07 pm.
