The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held March 31, 2015 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Clerk Shirley Hulinsky. Members present include Supervisors: Mike Berscheit, Bruce Johnson and Louis Thompson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky, Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Erv Herdering.
Newly reelected officers were sworn in before the meeting.
Sup. Johnson made a motion to appoint Mike Berscheit as chairman for the year. Motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Sup. Johnson made a motion to appoint Louis Thompson as vice-chairman for the year. Motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motions passed.
The minutes from the regular meeting of February 24, 2015 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Berscheit. Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
For correspondence the board received letter from Land Stewardship Project, weed control form from Todd County which the board completed, the county bridge report showing deficiencies on Pillsbury bridge, township state association mailing list form, county association meeting April 9, and life insurance letter.
The board heard updates from the county weed inspection meeting and spring training.
April 10 at 2:30 p.m. was set as the spring township road inspection time.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5085 through 5101: Rev. $2,343.11; R&B $6,164.27; Fire $ 2,396.00. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The hourly wage and monthly wages will remain the same as last year on a motion by Sup. Berscheit and a second by Sup. Thompson. Sup. Johnson made a motion to keep gopher bounty at $1 per tail. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Long Prairie Leader will be the township official publishing paper and the Burtrum Bell Bulletin Board will be the official posting site on a motion by Sup Berscheit and a second by Sup. Thompson. Motions passed.
Sup. Johnson made a motion to accept the dust control contract as presented by Herdering, Inc. for $0.74 per foot at 18 feet wide. Motion was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Sup. Thompson made a motion to accept the road blading contract as presented by Herdering, Inc. for $82.50 per hour with fuel surcharge. Motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Sup. Johnson made a motion to accept the gravel contract from Herdering, Inc. for $6.50 per yard for Class #5 with fuel surcharge. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motions passed.
In the road report the contractor will clean ditch on Morrison Line Road and watch frost boils.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $104,215.15. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on April 28, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community.
