Burnhamville Township May 28, 2019

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville was held May 28, 2019 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Vice-Chair Bruce Johnson. Members present include Supervisors: Bruce Johnson, and Joe Muellner; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Absent: Mike Berscheit. Erv Herdering was also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of April 30, 2019 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Muellner. Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township board members received letters about planning and zoning, summer training and requests from Dogwood Loop and Dunlin Road residents.
A motion was made by Sup. Muellner to pay all bills numbered 5756 through 5769: Rev. $1,495.95; R & B $11,213.79 Fire $9,005.00. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A landowner on Dunlin Road is concerned about the culvert close to their new access. Sup. Johnson made a motion for township to put in an elbow and culvert on Dunlin Road. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A resident in Pillsbury call supervisors concerned about the neighboring house that is rat infested and deteriorated. Supervisors viewed property and agreed. The board will check with county to see what we can do.
In the road report with the almost constant rain the dust control has not been sprayed yet. Once weather dries up contractor has to regrade and upgrade roads before spray can be done. The board also had a complaint about the gravel on 331st Ave again we will have to wait for weather to dry up. Board approved the road inspection list with the addition of culvert for manure hose on Ermine Drive later in the summer.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $72,102.98. County taxes will be coming in at the end of the month and dust control payments were received. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Johnson and seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
The township board was advised to move some of its savings into a money market account which would earn more interest. Sup. Johnson made a motion to move the money from savings to a money market account. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Ditch mowing contract will be tabled until next month.
A motion was made by Sup. Johnson to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center
