Burnhamville Township • October 27, 2020

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville was held October 27, 2020 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:07 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Bruce Johnson, Mike Berscheit, Joe Muellner; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky and Treasurer Pam Throener. Erv Herdering was also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of September 29, 2020 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Johnson and was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township received letter from City of Swanville stating their wellhead project was approved and letters about upcoming election requirements.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5987 through 6004: Rev. $22,772.17; R & B $13,738.08. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
With the general election on November 3 with board will set up the booths on Monday at 4 pm.
The retention pond in Oak Ridge Preserve was repaired.
With winter weather here the board discussed snow plowing contracts. Sup. Johnson made a motion to accept the snow contract for 2020-21 from Herdering, Inc. Sup. Berscheit seconded the motion. Motion passed with all voting in favor.
The board discussed how to spend the CARES Grants funds. Sup. Johnson made a motion to approve resolution 2020-2 to turn over remainder of CARES Grant funds to the county. Motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed.
In the road report the contractor installed culvert on Essex Trail/ 321st Ave, beaver damaged culvert on 162nd St and monitor beaver damage on 180th St. Swanville Lions and Sportsman Club donated money to fix Bass Lake public access. With water level high the access will have to be monitored for improvements. With the early snow the snow plow drivers had issues. There was a complaint of snow plow damaging a yard when the truck got stuck. Contractor hopes to grade roads again after snow melts to get ready for winter.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $49,839.53. Sup. Berscheit motioned to approve and Sup. Muellner seconded motion. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:49 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
