Burnhamville Township September 24, 2019

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville was held September 24, 2019 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Bruce Johnson, Joe Muellner, Mike Berscheit; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; Treasurer Pam Throener. Erv Herdering was also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of August 27, 2019 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Berscheit and was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township board members received letters from planning and zoning concerning feed lot definitions and setbacks hearing on October 3, a letter from Minnesota Pollution Control about water, and an unsigned letter concerning some buildings in the City of Burtrum. The township board has no say on rules of buildings in the city.
Election training for new equipment has been set and our election judges are registered.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5814 through 5823: Rev. $762.48; R & B $6,239.35. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A resident of Dogwood Loop called to ask if the speed signs could be taken down. Sup. Berscheit made a motion to keep the speed zone signs up on Dogwood Loop as the residents had asked for this to be called a rural residential area. Motion was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Sup. Johnson made a motion to accept the snow contract from Herdering, Inc. for $100 per hour with a fuel clause. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $47,200.61. Treasurer’s report was approved by Sup. Berscheit and seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Since the lawyer did not arrive board tabled the nuisance resolution.
The Burnhamville Township board acknowledge this is a tough wet year, however, they would like to remind landowners to be responsible and clean up the roadways if users track mud on the roads.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:26 p.m. Next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center
Sup. Berscheit reopened the township board meeting at 7:29. The lawyer Jean Gustafson had arrived to discuss the run down property in Pillsbury. She gave the board an outline of a resolution complaint for the township to present to Todd County Planning and Zoning stating the building is a nuisance, unsafe, and a liability. After discussion, Sup. Johnson made a motion to approve resolution 2019-02 for complaint about dilapidated house in Pillsbury. Sup. Berscheit seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Sup. Johnson motioned to adjourn meeting at 8:04. Sup. Berscheit seconded the motion.
