Burnhamville Township, September 25, 2012

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held September 25, 2012 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Mike Berscheit, Bruce Johnson, and Louis Thompson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; and Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Ervin Muellner and Erv Herdering.
Sup. Thompson made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting August 28, 2012. Motion seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed.
Sup. Berscheit made a motion to accept the fire contract with the Swanville Rural Fire Association as presented. Motion seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed.
Motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 4694 through 4706: Rev. $619.65 , R&B $18,670.90, Fire $14,576.55. Sup. Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The board reported the stop sign on 170th St and State 28 was shot up. Supervisor will contact the state highway department to get it replaced.
Sup. Berscheit made a motion to appoint election judges for the November 6th general election as: Gary Allen, Brenda Schwanke, Pam Throener, Sharon Muellner, Terri Holmgren, Gloria Hobbs, Bonnie Alseleben, Mike Holmgren, and Shirley Hulinsky. Motion was seconded by Sup. Thompson.
The contractor was short on soybean oil dust control product, so he did not spray Explorer Drive. Board advised him to cover as much as he can with a single application down the center. Board will evaluate effectiveness later. Also, the patch mix was unavailable from the county. They are waiting on the supplier from Wadena. When mix is available 184th St will be patched.
Contractor is waiting on wire locates to trim ditch by Lady Lake.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $175,648.63 before tonight’s bills. Treasurer’s report accepted on a motion by Sup. Johnson and seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed.
Motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 7:36 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on October 30, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.
