The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville was held September 28, 2021 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Bruce Johnson, Mike Berscheit; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky. Supervisor Joe Muellner and Treasurer Pam Throener were absent. Erv Herdering was also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of August 31, 2021 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Johnson and second by Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township received information from DNR about help fixing Mons Lake access, a thank you from Todd Wadena Community Corrections, notice about a new animal feed lot and information on Swanville Rural Fire Association.
Sup. Berscheit made a motion to approve the Swanville fire contract. Motion seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 6145 through 6157: Rev. $814.33; R& B $6,192.05; Fire: $11,517.08. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The clerk applied for the American Rescue Plan Act funding. The board discussed how to spend the money.
The clerk gave an update on the county township association meeting which included discussions on broadband development around the county, grants for water projects, and ways to use ARPA funding. The board agreed to do a resolution to support joint powers agreement to develop better broadband around the county.
In the road report after reviewing bids, Sup. Johnson made a motion to purchase a New Holland skid steer from Melrose Implement. Sup. Berscheit seconded the motion. Sup. Berscheit made a motion and Sup. Johnson seconded to purchase a skid steer trailer and accessories from Hillig Auto. Motions passed. After viewing Sup. Berscheit approved the access permit from Vern Fuchs. Contractor is almost done with road inspection list. Sup. Johnson made a motion to approve snow contract from Herdering, Inc. Motion was seconded by Sup. Berscheit. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $61,110.43. Sup. Berscheit motioned to approve and Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, October 26 at 7 pm in the Burtrum Community Center.
