Burnhamville Township • September 29, 2020

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville was held September 29, 2020 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Bruce Johnson, Mike Berscheit, Joe Muellner; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky and Treasurer Pam Throener. Erv Herdering was also present.
The minutes from the regular meeting of August 27, 2020 were approved as presented on a motion by Sup. Johnson and was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township received letters about planning and zoning, Sytek grant, noxious weed grant opportunity and Swanville Rural Fire Association. Sup. Berscheit made a motion to accept the Swanville Rural Fire Association contract. Motion was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 5971 through 5986: Rev. $4,429.43; R & B $8,989.97; Fire $10,823.57. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
With the general election on November 3, 2020 Sup., Berscheit made a motion to appoint election judges as: Bonnie Alsleben, Brenda Schwanke, Nancy Hillman, Mike Holmgren, Check Macy, Shirley Hulinsky, Pam Throener and Janice Lind. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A resident complained of a retention pond in Oak Ridge Preserve that was not working correctly and could be washing out another’s property. Sup. Johnson will meet with resident about retaining pond maintenance.
Long Lake Association would like to send the township their newsletter to keep informed of residents’ concerns.
The board discussed how to spend the CARES Grants funds.
In the road report someone damaged the surface of 341st Ave. Supervisors will look into putting up road signs. The contractor and supervisor will install culvert on Essex Trail. Contractor will keep up with gravel needs. There are report of beaver problems on 162nd St again.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $54,671.38. Sup. Berscheit motioned to approve and Sup. Johnson seconded motion. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:43 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 7 pm in the Burtrum Community Center.
