The September meeting of the Burtrum City Council was called to order on the 2nd at 7 p.m. by Mayor Allen. All members answered roll call.
Minutes of the August 4th meeting were read and approved on a motion by Kevin Wunderlich and seconded by Beau Krueger. Upon vote motion carried.
Finance report was read and approved on a motion by Beau Krueger to accept the report. Upon vote motion carried. Checks number 7284 thru 7296 were approved for payment on a motion by Kevin Wunderlich and seconded by Beau Krueger. Upon vote motion carried.
A new roof needs to be put on the bell. Will be done at the same time the hall is done. Letters will be sent to several residents to clean up their property. Meeting was closed to hold the public hearing.
Public hearing was then called to order by Mayor Allen. He explained the reason of the hearing was to decide if the city needs to adopt a resolution to have properties in town razed or repaired. Several citizens and two homeowners attended the meeting. Many questions about the buildings were asked and the pros and cons of the buildings were discussed. Being no further business the public hearing was adjourned.
The regular council meeting was reopened.
Motion was made by Mayor Allen to adopt resolution number 14-1 to order the razing or repair of the property located at 117 Franklin St. within the 90 days. Seconded by Beau Krueger and carried. Kevin Wunderlich abstained from voting.
Motion was made by Mayor Allen to adopt resolution number 14-2 to order the razing or repair of the property located at 125 Franklin St. E. within the 90 day time limit. Kevin Wunderlich seconded the motion. Upon vote motion carried.
Motion was made by Mayor Allen to adopt resolution number 14-3 to order the razing or repair of the property located at 110 Wilson Ave. N. within the 90 day limit. Motion seconded by Beau Krueger. Upon vote motion carried.
Motion was made by Mayor Allen to adopt resolution number 14-4 to order the razing or repair of the property located at 112 Lincoln St. W. within the 90 day time limit. Motion seconded by Kevin Wunderlich and upon vote carried.
The 2014-2015 levy was set and adopted on a motion by Kevin Wunderlich and seconded by Beau Krueger. Upon vote motion carried.
A letter from the Initiative Foundation was received thanking us for our donation was read by the Clerk.
Being no further business, a motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Beau Krueger and seconded by Kevin Wunderlich. Motion carried. These are unapproved minutes.
