Burtrum City August 7, 2017

The meeting of the Burtrum City Council was called to order at 7:02 pm on Monday, August 7, 2017 by Mayor Ron Strassburg. Those in attendance included; Ron Strassburg, Carrie Wiechmann, Kevin Rohde, Beau Krueger, Deb VanHavermaet, and Mitchell Bruggenthies.
The meeting minutes from July 3rd, 2017 were read and approved by a motion made by Beau Krueger seconded by Mitchell Bruggenthies, upon vote motion was carried and the minutes were accepted. Next the finance report was read and approved by a motion made by Deb Van Havermaet and seconded by Mitchell Bruggenthies. The City Council then discussed outstanding/routine bills and upon a motion made by Kevin Rohde and seconded by Beau Krueger, the bills were paid.
Regarding old business, still working on getting more estimates for fencing at the Burtrum Lions Park. The mayor is awaiting a call back and also getting a hold of someone of another person regarding bushes in town that still need to be trimmed. A call was placed to the state regarding putting in culverts from Ed Walkers to Mitchell Bruggenthies, and through the road, but are still waiting to hear back as well.
Next, in new business, Joe Kemper was present at the meeting in requesting of the City Beer Permit for August 26th-27th for Heritage Days. This was approved by a motion made by Mitchell Bruggenthies and seconded by Deb Van Havermaet.
Attending the meeting was also Virginia Axel, owner of Burtrum Liquor, who was requesting intention for Sunday Off sales with appropriated time allotted for sale. This was approved by a motion made by Mitchell Bruggenthies and seconded by Beau Krueger.
Water Inspections were recently done at the Community Center and Burtrum Lions Park and was noted that the wells will need to be modified for proper ventilation.
As there was no further topics to discuss the meeting was adjourned by a motion made first by Kevin Rohde and seconded by Beau Krueger, upon vote motion carried and the meeting was adjourned. The next City Council Meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 5th, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Burtrum Town Hall.
