Burtrum City • May 3, 2021

The Burtrum City Council meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 3rd, 2021 by Mayor Ron Strassburg.
In attendance was Ron Strassburg, Kevin Rohde, Sharon Erickson, Sara Macho, Mitchell Bruggenthies and Laura Horvath.
Minutes from the April 5th, 2021 meeting were read and approved by a motion made by Sharon Erickson and seconded by Mitchell Bruggenthies, upon vote motion was carried and minutes were accepted.
Next the finance report was read and approved; a motion made by Sara Macho and seconded by Kevin Rohde, finance report was accepted.
The city discussed the current bills/invoices and upon a motion made by Sara Macho and seconded by Kevin Rohde bills were paid.
City discussed old/new business: Old Business:
-Gave an update for cost per household on Greater Gas Company, City folk would like a survey conducted to see how many people are interested in getting gas hooked up?
-Class 5 for dust control will be added this month.
-The yield sign that was knocked down will be put back up – City will check with HWY dept at putting more traffic signs up around town?
City discussed ordinance on mowing –
Remember to get a city permit if building or adding permanent structures on your property.
New Business:
– Clean-up day will be May 22nd, from 9A-11A, location is Chicago Ave., look for posters around town and on website.
– Memorial Day Parade will start at 11A and end at cemetery
– City approved putting a slab of cement and adding more seating area outside of Hall – motion made by Sharon Erickson and seconded by Sara Macho
– City will buy flags and flowers for planters around town – 4-H Kids will plant flowers
Since no further topics needed to be addressed the meeting was adjourned with a motion made by Sharon Erickson and seconded by Mitchell Bruggenthies, upon vote motion carried and meeting was adjourned.
